He was a published and a known poet, but until this book took the English-speaking world storm in 1812, he was not a famous poet. This book directly capitalizes on that. Childe Harold narrates the experiences of a young Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage, Cantos I and II, can be read as ron’s poetic journal of his Mediterranean and Eastern tour in 1809-1811. Childe Harold is a long poem of four cantos, but now only two cantos were published.
